Fixing Your Eyes

This morning I was reading in the book of the Hebrews, chapter 3,1: Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.
So, you have to ask, how does this process work of “fixing your eyes on Jesus”??? For starters, it has proven to be one of the most difficult things you could want to do… The composite of doing it wrong is the “drifting away” process that the writer of the Hebrews refers to. However, the nub of it is that for humans, fixing your eyes on anything is a hard process. Women think they can get men to “fix their eyes on them” through various means, but that always ends up in disappointment… Many try to “fix their eyes” on riches, which also always ends in disappointment, because you certainly can’t take any of it with you…
So, you would have to ask your self, why would we be commanded to do something that is so hard to do???
That would be at the core of discipleship…
